Appraisals
Most jewelry over $500 is not usually covered on homeowne's insurance policies. It has to be listed as a "rider" or separate item based on a detail appraisal. We are able to provide insurance and estate appraisals. If your jewelry is lost, stolen or damaged, the appraisal is used to obtain a proper replacement. If your jewelry is purchased at Colonial Jewelers, appraisals are free of charge.
If you need an appraisal for a piece of jewelry not purchased at Colonial Jewelers, we will need to keep your piece for a short period of time and a fee is charged.
Diamond Inspections
We recommend bringing us your diamond jewelry for inspection every 6 months. Our jeweler will inspect the prongs to help prevent any possible damage or loss of your gemstones. This inspection service is free.
Engraving
We will gladly engrave and personalize most items that can be engraved. Engraving and personalization are done by our in-store engraver by machine.
Gift Wrapping
We offer this service completely free of charge.
Gift Certificates
We offer gift certificates in any denomination.
Jewelry Repairs
At Colonial Jewelers, we understand how much your jewelry means to you. We provide full service on all jewelry repairs. No job is too small. Minor repairs can usually be done while you wait. Estimates on jewelry repairs are gladly given free of charge.
Layaway
We have a very convenient layaway policy: 20% deposit and a monthly (no minimum) payment are all that's required. You may keep an item on layaway for up to 6 months.
Pearl and Bead Stringing
We are able to take care of your needs for pearl and/or bead stringing.
We always make sure your clasp is working properly. We want the jewelry you wear to be safe!
Ring Cutting
We will remove most rings that won't come off. It is a quick and painless task.
A nominal fee is charged for this service.
Watch Repairs
We work with a very fine watchmaker who has expertise in a variety of watches. We want to make sure your watch is serviced to the best extent possible. We also work directly with most manufacturers for warranty work. Battery replacements and watchband adjustments can be done while you wait. Estimates on watch repairs are given upon request.
